Find medical images at Images.MD
Posted on September 8, 2008
Want to see images (e.g., photos, tables, or graphs) describing a medical condition you are studying or lecturing about? More than 50,000 high-quality medical images are available in the Images.MD database, available through the Library Web site to UT Southwestern affiliates. Each image is accompanied by detailed and informative text contributed by an expert in the subject area.
The images are grouped into over 90 collections on topics from allergy to vascular disease. You may browse the images by collection (e.g., fungal infections, AIDS, etc.) or search by keyword or image type (e.g., table, photo, etc.)
Images.MD also allows you to:
- Create a personal image library
- Create Microsoft PowerPoint presentations of personal slide sets
- Add, edit, or delete text or add personal notes to images using My Slides software
- Order CD-ROMs of presentations
- Email images to colleagues
The Library's subscription to Images.MD allows unlimited personal use for the life of the subscription. This covers not only personal use and research, but also teaching uses such as lectures and presentations and handouts for these (basically, any non-commercial use is allowed). For more information, see the Images.MD Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page.
You can find Images.MD on the Library home page by using the search box.
