Looking for an unbiased, authoritative Web site that patients can use to find health and drug information? MedlinePlus may be the perfect answer.
MedlinePlus is a product of the National Library of Medicine (NLM), a division of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). It is designed to provide objective information for patients.
MedlinePlus includes:
- Articles on 750 health conditions, diseases, and wellness topics
- A section on drugs & supplements
- A dictionary of medical terms
- Current health news
- Directories listing doctors, dentists, and hospitals
- A service for finding local health-related resources
- More than 165 interactive slideshow tutorials (with sound) covering diseases, conditions, tests, and procedures
- NIH Senior Health: A special section for older adults with options for larger text and audio
- One-hour videos of actual surgical procedures
- Links to health information in over 40 languages
