Library's enhanced Web site now in beta testing
Posted on February 18, 2009
The Library home page and other sections of the Web site have been redesigned for easier use. The new Web site design is available for viewing and beta testing. Please try using it and let us know your thoughts by taking our short survey.
Enhancements include:
- Improved search function using the Google search engine. See the About Search Options page for details of the options available from the drop-down search box.
- New layout designed for 1024 x 768 screen resolution. Web pages now span the screen, resulting in less scrolling.
- You may click anywhere on the header image of the UT Southwestern logo or the Library logo to link to the UT Southwestern or Library home page respectively.
- "Related Links" (e.g. Electronic Resource Use) available in the right column.
- "Ask a Librarian" icon moved from left to right column. Click on the icon to see contact options.
- Email/phone (tab) contact option is now accessible from all Web pages in the right column.
- New Resources Added link featured in the left column.
- Link to trial products moved from the "Highlights" section to a new "Trial Product(s)" section in the left column.
Content has been reorganized on these pages:
- About the Library (visit the new Library Floor Plan and Library Staff pages)
- Library Services
- Resources by Subject
- Electronic Books
The Library News, Tell Us What You Think, and ILLiad pages will remain with the current look and feel until the enhanced site is officially released in early March 2009.
