Exam review help: Online and in print

Preparing for exams? The Library offers online exam review resources and exam review books.
Exam Master is an online board preparation and review tool consisting of more than 17,000 medical questions like those found on the USMLE or medical specialty certification exams. You can chose from pre-set exams or create your own.
You'll get detailed reporting on your scores, to help you identify strengths and weaknesses. Explanatory text is also included. Of special note are the USMLE Step 1, Step 2, and Step 3 board and subject reviews, plus a practice exams.
Exam Master also offers "Medical Subject Review" modules designed as a general study tools for medical students who wish to test and strengthen their knowledge.
Find Exam Master on the Library Web site by using the "Quick Links" box in the left sidebar and selecting "Exam Master." A helpful tutorial is also available. Individuals must register for a personal account to use the system.
The NetLibrary collection of electronic books contains 23 of the well-known Pre-Test series of exam review books. To access, type "NetLibrary" in the Library Web site search box. Each Pre-Test book covers a different medical specialty; to locate, simply type "PreTest" in the NetLibrary search box. To see other exam review titles, type "exam review medicine" in the NetLibrary search box.
For a review of anatomy, consider the Anatomy.tv database. Find it by typing "Anatomy.tv" in the "Search for" box of the Library Web site.
Of course, the Library also offers exam review books in print. More than 200 of the most recent titles are kept at the Library Information Desk. These can be checked out for two hours for use within the Library to registered UT Southwestern users. More than 1,000 older exam review books are in the book collection on the Top Floor of the Library. Registered users can check these out for two weeks, and renew up to 10 times.
You can identify print exam review books by searching in the Library's online catalog. One option is to type "examination questions" in the online catalog search box and click on "search everything." This will retrieve a list of almost 1,200 titles for you to browse.
